Profile: Gaulke a student favorite

AHS secretary Beth Gaulke was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised in North Minneapolis. Beth was raised with one brother and six sisters, being the youngest of eight. She graduated from Minneapolis North High in 1987 and attended Central Lakes College where she completed courses for real estate and took classes for business management.
Beth got married to Greg Gaulke on July 2nd, 1994. She has 3 children, Alex Gaulke (21), Heather Gaulke (19), Amy Gaulke (17). Beth enjoys reading, crafting, stamp making and making cards, fishing, and camping. Her favorite weekend activity includes napping and going camping. Beth’s favorite food is Italian food and her favorite comfort food is meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. Her favorite books are Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. Her favorite quote is, “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.” - Dr. Suess.
Beth is currently Aitkin High School’s counseling office secretary. She has worked with Aitkin schools for the past 16 years and plans on continuing to work at Aitkin. Beth’s favorite job in Aitkin was when she was working in the Media Center at Rippleside Elementary school. “I am good at connecting people with books and books that they would like,” noted Gaulke.
Students at the high school gave many similar replies about Beth. “She is always very enthusiastic and has positive energy,” junior Shelby Doely said. “She gives off a positive vibe. The counseling office is a lot brighter with her there.” Ashley Dwyer also appreciates Beth’s presence in the guidance office. “She is my best friend, but like school-wise,” Ashley said. “She is the nice mom of school, the cool one. She makes the counseling office so much better and she needs a raise,” said Ashley Dwyer, high school senior. “Beth is the go-to woman, shes got snacks, life advice, always a positive attitude. You know when you go to the counseling office you are going to have a good day,” said Holly Paulson, a current high school junior.
We are very thankful to have Beth in the counseling office to give us some advice or to just give us a snack when we need it. Beth is always there when you need her and always has a positive attitude.
