No. 10 — Grad Blast is almost here

Grad Blast has been a tradition here at AHS and many other High Schools for many years. I know my parents had a grad blast here at Aitkin. Grad Blast is an event hosted at the school for seniors the night of graduation. The whole senior class will be locked in the school along with some chaperones.
During the lock-in we will play games and participate in activities with our classmates. But that’s not all. We will be winning prizes as well. Not lame prizes either. They will be prizes to help us get started in life like kitchen items, travel gear, car necessities, etc. Seniors will have the opportunity to receive whole bunch of stuff that we will need, but won’t have to buy.
The parents of the senior class put everything together. They raise all the money, they plan everything, and they chaperone. Even with only a handful of parents helping, those few parents raised $25,000 for the class of 2018 Grad Blast. They didn’t have very long to plan things because they got a late start. Usually they start in september, and have all the way up to graduation. But they didn’t start this year until January!
Grad Blast is the last hoorah for us seniors to be together as a grade before we all go off and start our adult lives. Thank you to everyone who has helped us get this far, and seniors, congratulations. Or should I say CONGRADUATION. Haha.
