Ms. Jennifer Long has filled one of the positions in the special education department. The 23-year-old North Dakota State University graduate came from Mora and now lives in Malmo.
“My friends in Malmo are why I started looking for a job in Aitkin,” said Long when asked why she chose Aitkin. She came here looking for the English job that opened up when Mr. Jacob Jaskowiak left, but because there were two great options for the job and Ms. Long had a Minor in Human Development Family Science, she ended up in the Special Education Department, where she helps students there.
Ms. Long is an only child and her parents still live in Mora. She student taught at Discovery School in Fargo, where she learned many of her skills to being a teacher. Her main hobbies include watching movies and shows on the popular website Netflix and being with her friends in Malmo.
Like all of the new teachers this year, Ms. Long has made a great addition to our district and has filled a very needed gap in the school. You can find Ms. Long in room 204 at Aitkin High School, where she will be working with students on their homework and problems that they might have from 7:30 to when she leaves.
