Graduation is approaching quickly. Although it may be bittersweet for some students, it can also be exciting. Parents have been working hard with fundraising and planning throughout the year. It will be a fun send off before seniors start their lives after high school. Grad blast will have a certain theme, but it will not be mentioned in order to keep it a surprise. Seniors will not know the theme until they enter the gym.
Grad blast is set to start at 9:30 p.m. and at that point the gym will be decorated as the chosen theme. Grad Blast parent organizers have picked games and fun activities with the theme incorporated. They will be welcomed by parents all night. The seniors are able to eat when they get there and then the activities should begin. “We try to keep this pretty hush hush so everything is a surprise the night of the event,” said Grad Blast chairman and parent Stephanie Miller.
There will be a variety of nice prizes and some grand prize drawings throughout the night. “Seniors, I hate to see you miss out on this opportunity,” Miller said. Students need to be present to win prizes and must stay all night to keep prizes. The event will last from 9 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
“The parents have put in a lot of months of hard work to make this night extra special for the seniors. We hope that the Seniors will take this one last night together as Aitkin High School's Class of 2019 and make memories. Take pictures, play games, laugh, joke, and reminisce, it will be a night to remember.”
