It’s prom season and as girls rush to get their dresses fixed and guys get fitted for their tuxes, some people can’t afford the dresses. However, there is an AHS graduate willing to help. She loans out dresses for prom and they don’t cost a thing for the borrower, the only rule is that they just must return it. Simple as that. Carli Johnson-Gabrio graduated from AHS a few years ago and is the mastermind behind the Hello Beautiful Dress Company.
“I do it because growing up my mom and I never had a ton of money,” Johnson-Gabrio said. “My prom dress was $40 bought from a girl off Facebook. Some people can't afford dresses and I don't want people to have to skip an event due to the cost of a dress. Also, another reason I do this is because the moment someone finds a dress that fits them and makes them feel beautiful, that's the best feeling in the world. Seeing their smile and their excitement makes it all worth it.
“I loan them out for free, but I ask that they get returned. If people insist on giving me money to borrow a dress, that money goes to cleaning or buying more dresses.”
You can message her on facebook if you need a dress. She doesn’t have a store location due to lack of funds, but she is still willing to help find the perfect dress or tux. Carli has about 12 tuxes in right now. Who knows it might be the right size for someone new. You may contact her through her personal facebook page or the Hello Beautiful Dress Company page. If you or someone you know is looking for a dress or a tux, you can contact her and your needs will be met. You may also donate your old, used prom dresses or tuxes to her.
