Mr. Rocco DiPaolo came to Aitkin High School from New Mexico because his fiancè and grandkids live around here. Down in New Mexico he trained horses, raised corriente cattle, and taught chemistry. He has 24 horses, three cows, one goat, and nine dogs. He doesn’t have much free time, but when he does he enjoys spending time with horses, shooting sports, hunting, and archery.
Mr. DiPaolo went to college and all he wanted to do was teach, and coach wrestling and football. He felt that there are better ways of learning than what he grew up with so he became a teacher. He loved to be at school because it made him feel safe. He still loves to be at a school.
Now that he is in small town Aitkin he teaches Welding I and II, Engines I and II, Intro to Ag, Woods, Water, Wildlife, How to Grow Stuff, and ?Animal Science. Next year he will have a new class called supervised agricultural experience for seniors. He loves to teach all about Ag and loves to see immediate success in his students.
Mr. DiPaolo likes to live here because of the small town values. He really enjoys the people and has built strong relationships with them. DiPaolo said he doesn’t know how students feel about him and his teaching, but all he wants for them is to be successful after high school.
