Trends showing up at AHS

Are you aware of the trends that are apparent in Aitkin High School? Usually a trend starts by an upperclassman trying out something new, or a celebrity has influenced the media into buying something. Often times when a trend is started it is passed down through the grades starting with the seniors, then the juniors and so on.
Many of the trends have been sticking from last year like Patagonia sweatshirts, hunter boots, hydro flasks and dudes. Some of the things I have heard about hydro flasks are, “They’re so good, they keep my drinks cold all day!” I asked my fellow classmate Sidney Westerlund what made you buy a pair of dudes? “The trend — everyone has them” Westerlund replied. “They were definitely worth the hype. They are comfy and they don’t hurt my feet.”
I have noticed some newer trends such as airpods, vans, and magic cards. I asked Colton Weimer about his airpods. Colton replied, “I can walk away from my phone and not have to worry about dragging the cords along.” Another thing I asked him was what are the benefits of having airpods? Colton said, “The best thing about airpods are that they’re wireless and you can keep them in your ears without listening to anything and they block sound great!”
I am sure some of you have heard about the memes about airpods. Of course I had to ask Weimer if the memes are true or do they not fall out? Colton chuckled, “They don't fall out.“ One more thing Colton wanted to add was, “The battery life is great, it can last 5 hours and the case charges the airpods. The case has a 24 hour charge life.”
There are a lot of different trends on the rise and sticking around. It’s kind of fun to try new things and see what other people like in our grade and community.
