On Dec. 1, Officer Dustin Byrnes started attending Aitkin High School and Rippleside Elementary to prevent bad behavior. He walks around the hallways and in the cafeteria, talking to the students and staff to build a friendship.
Having officer Byrnes attending the school has been very useful as he has helped many students with many different issues. He has been making an impact on the students and people around him. Officer Byrnes deals with issues like tobacco violations, harassment, and threatening text messages.
He has presented a powerpoint in front of the student body about talking to strangers on the internet, sexting and the consequences of that, and about texting and driving. Officer Byrnes has been making a difference in the schools and we are lucky to have him.
