The golf season is ongoing even during this cold spring season.
This season there are 17 kids in total. It is lower than average as golf usually has 20-24 students. Grades 7-12 are welcome to join golf. This year’s coaches include Ms. Anne Erlandson, who has been coaching for six years, and Michael Statz, who has been coaching for 10 years.
The captains this year are Heather Gaulke for girls and Sam Sadlowski for boys.
Golf practices are every day, and now that they go outside to the golf course it is from 3:45 to 5:40 p.m.
“We are a very young and inexperienced team as so we are working on fundamentals of the game so we can make beginner golfers into experienced and competitive golfers,” boys’ golf coach Mr. Michael Statz said.
Top returning golfers for the boys are Sam Sadlowsky (sophomore) and Kody Johnson (junior).
For the girls, Ellie McMillan and Heather Gaulke lead the way.
Golf is still available for whoever wants to play, according to Ms. Erlandson. “It’s never too late to start golfing,” she said.
