This week’s outstanding athlete award goes to Jack Kuppich. Kuppich is a junior that plays baseball, football, and weightlifts during the offseason. His favorite sport is baseball, but he enjoys playing many different sports. Kuppich’s ultimate goal as an athlete is to be the very best he can be. When asked who he credits his success as an athlete too, he responded with, “I credit my success to my parents for always pushing me and taking the time out of their lives to make sure that I always made it to my games and tournaments. I also credit it to Coach Janzen and Coach Sanford for pushing me hard and wanting me to be better than the other team.”
To Jack, sports are a major part of his life from playing them or training for them year round, to watching them on tv, or even playing video game-related sports like Madden. Not only is Jack an outstanding athlete, but a great student too. Playing sports is what motivates him to do good in school. That being said, school would not be the the same without sports. “It gives me something to look forward to at the end of the day, especially when we have games,” stated Jack.
While the game itself is fun to play, that is not the only reason why he enjoys sports. “I like sports because they are fun and I enjoy being there with my teammates," he said. "During sports you can just let everything else go and focus on the sport you are playing.
When asked for any advice about sports, he responded with, “When playing baseball, never bunt, hit dingers.”
