Driving is a privilege that can be taken away very easily. Throughout time there have been many accidents that could have been prevented. Teen drivers need to be aware of the risks of driving. As a driver you are responsible for not only the safety of those in your vehicle, but also others driving around you like pedestrians on the sidewalk or bicyclists. Risks are taken while driving every day and you can do many things as a driver to stay alert and focused on the road and its surroundings. Your driving privileges can be taken away if you do not do so, according to DMV.org.
It is a well known fact that some teen drivers text while driving. But this is not the only dangerous action that puts others at risk. While driving, it is crucial that your eyes are on the road at all times. Even adjusting the stereo or taking a phone call could put you and others around you in a bad predicament. It is important to have respect for other drivers, school busses, and pedestrians on the sidewalk or crosswalk.
Bus drivers have a very important job, they are responsible for the safety of all of the children on board. A bus driver needs to have very good judgement on the approaching traffic, especially if a driver does not stop for a school bus. According to The Office of Revisor of Statutes, “A person who fails to stop a vehicle or to keep it stopped is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not less than $300.” Passing a school bus puts the children's lives at risk. There is nothing more precious than a human life. Remember that next time you're driving.
