Show some respect with phones

More often than not, if you have used a phone during class, you have been asked to put it away by a teacher. If this describes you, then you probably disagree with the rule of no phones during class. Either way, teachers do have a reason for having you put your device away. Whether this is right or wrong, is completely left to opinion. It is often referred to as a hindrance or distraction, making you split your frame of mind onto several subjects at once.
Many people could agree that phones are incredible devices, that lead to innovation and can teach children and adults alike. This is a great piece of technology, because it allows you to use the internet, and its resources, on the go. It is more pliable than a laptop, but with a much smaller display. This doesn’t hinder many people, but those it does, just choose a larger phone, or a larger device. Phones are universally appreciated, and used.
Even given all of these benefits, it does have downfalls. It is easier to hide, and therefore, the most likely candidate for use during inappropriate times. Students have many activities they would rather be doing than sitting in a class and listening to lecture, or working on an assignment. Most students with phones will have the urge to check it at least once a class period. A lot of students also like to play games on their phone, either socially, or as a distraction from what they are doing, or even just to enjoy a time when they have nothing much better to do.
Teachers like to have full attention of their subjects, and dominate their classrooms with an iron fist. However, they do understand when students go for their phones during work time, whether they want to listen to music or whatever. This does not change how the teacher would look at their time being taken away by a device, though. Over all, it is better to just leave the phone in its place, until advised by a teacher that it is free time.
