This week's Teacher of the Week is Brianna Tetrick. She graduated from Concordia, Moorhead in 2012. She now teaches English classes in Aitkin, and this will be her second year of teaching. There are many reasons why she loves English. She said, “When I was in high school, I enjoyed the conversations and discussions about literature. I felt that my own English teacher at the time truly valued our opinions so much that I wanted to do the same thing with my own classroom someday.”
Some things Ms. Tetrick enjoys doing outside of work are: Hanging out with her husband and her pets, doing home projects, and cooking fun meals with her husband. During the summer, she spends a lot of time floating in her river and reading books.
When asked what some of her weaknesses were, she responded, “Sometimes wanting everything to be in its place doesn’t work out, which can be frustrating.” Learning to go with the flow has been a struggle, but she’s figuring it out.
Ms. Tetrick said she enjoys Aitkin High School. “Overall, I’d say the biggest thing for me would be just how welcoming everyone has been,” she said.
