Express yourself!
Check out these fashions at AHS By Grant Espeseth Posted March 2, 2016 Fashion is a way of life, a way to express oneself, and a way to show who wears it best. Fashion can be everything from beards, tails, piercings, tattoos, gypsies, boots, and even everything against the “Trend.” Fashion is found everywhere, even in our little school. Fashion is important to many because people like to look good for other people to gain their attention. Fashion is like two poles, both negative and positive, intertwined by dueling threads of hot molten steel of anguish and might, pushing against gravity until gravity fails. Fashion is the balance of life. Fashion is defined by the dictionary as “a popular trend, especially in styles of dress and ornament or manners of behavior.” Fashion is not only your look, but the way you strut that look. Student and teacher fashion is very different. Ms. Grater said, “Teacher fashion needs to maintain a professional standpoint.” Danny Christian defines fashion as “following trends so people agree with the way you look.” What Danny needs to know is that people don't need to agree with the way you look if you wear it right, you need to learn strutting techniques. If you learn these techniques you can wear whatever and still have fashion. Sarah Johnson knows how to strut. She is the swagger of strutting. She advises to “walk with your chest puffed out.” She's saying that the strongest thing is confidence. People follow the trends, in Aitkin High School you can find many trends such as “Crocs, yoga pants, leggings, and flannels,” according to Bethany Kinzer. Fashion appeals to guys, but is more so appealing to women. Bethany Kinzer said, “Fashion allows women to impress the dominate males.” The real question is who has the fashion and who doesn't have the fashion? Franklin Real said, “Grant Espeseth, he's styling and not afraid to push boundaries.” Then I asked who didn't have fashion. Real said, “Sam Roring, through his own choice decides to not follow the fashion trends.” People like to ask who starts these “trends.” Real said, “Nathan Davies started the give up on life trend, Hannah Hyytinen knows the trends, and Drew knows how to look preppy and have a muscular look #Hotty." Fashion is always changing. Bethany Kinzer said, “Fashion changes because people start to wear the same thing,” but what is the future of fashion far from “the now?” I was curious and asked the very one and only Drew Nordean, Drew said the future “Is full of leather jeans jackets, black on black, grey on grey, blue on blue and red on red.” Drew is a valuable source for future fashion trends. Fashion will always change as people do not like to wear the same things as other people. Fashion in AHS is always changing and there are always new trends. Fashion isn't only clothes, but also the way you wear your clothes and the way you walk and strut. |
