The boys wrapped up their basketball season after a rough loss, falling to the Foley Falcons in a playoff contest. The boys went 6-21 during their regular season.
Caleb Curtiss said that the season was a great learning curve for the team and that they all improved during the season. He also noted that senior captain Noah Swanson stood out to him where he played very good even though previous seasons he played few minutes on varsity.
Even though the team has only won six games, their record does not show what they truly can become. Jeb Sanford said that there were bumps throughout the season and if it gets solved then they will have a great season next year. Sam Peterson said, “Even though it was a hard year for us, this year proved to us we need to work harder at being a team, playing with composure, and winning on and off the court.” Many of the boys said that they will be shooting more often, working on ball handling, staying in shape, and will be weight lifting this offseason to get better for next season.
Throughout the season there were a lot of good times. Some of the season highlights according to the players were: Beating Isle at Isle, Virginia tournament, hanging out with friends and Abel Palkie getting dunked on. The boys will continue to get better and work hard for next season.
