Aitkin All Starz are off to state

All Starz
The Aitkin All Starz have recently competed in the section tournament; sweeping the competition in both high kick and jazz. The undefeated Aitkin All Starz will be defending their title in the state tournament on Feb. 13-14 at the Target Center.
Wrestling
The Aitkin Gobbler wrestling team came away with the win in the Great River Conference. Kyle Lynn picked up his 50th career win, Chris Jackson with his 60th, and Tyler Bare and Jack Braton got their 75th victories. The team won the section match Feb. 10 against Royalton Upsala 45-25, bringing them into the semifinals on Friday the 13th.
Girl’s Basketball
The girl’s basketball team recently played Proctor at the Target Center. Battling out a tough game, the girls come away with the win 47-33. Taylor Ehnstrom led the team with 13 points. The team took away the victory against Crosby-Ironton Thursday with a final score of 32-29. The girls are on a roll with a 5 game winning streak and their record is 17-4 heading into their game against Hinckley-Finlayson tonight.
Boy’s Basketball
Earlier in the year the boys basketball team had lost to Onamia by one point. They were determined to get better. They came back this week better than ever. The boy’s demolished Onamia 89-44.
