One Act Play fourth at sections
By Kaley Considine
Posted Feb. 17, 2015 This year's One Act play has been very successful. They performed the play “Oz” with an extremely talented group of students, according to director Mrs. Real. The cast consisted of: Elise Courtemanche, Molly Moriarty, Mya VanNurden, Sampson Perrine, Peyton Berg, Vanessa Lee, Romeo Hall, Ileeyah Armstrong, Mikaela Justen, Korben Cline, Joseph Fontaine, Franklin Real, Erik Sanbeck, Elise Lahmann-Sharbonda, Jadah Fitzgerald, Rachel Steel, Amanda Rom, Jeremy Paulbeck, Annie Courtemanche, and Nikki Courtemanche. They placed second in sub-sections and advanced on to sections where they placed fourth. Cast member Sampson Perrine said, “We did our best and it was a good year. We had a good group of seniors and it’s unfortunate that they are leaving.” Sampson also said he thinks the cast worked very well together and improved greatly throughout the season, making the play flow better. Unfortunately, this year was not only the last year for the seniors, but also for Mrs. Real. She has been the director of One Act for five years and assisted Mrs. Blake with costumes and sets for many years before that. When asked what she will miss most about directing One Act Real said, “Watching something that starts out in my head come alive on the stage is an exciting experience, but working with my cast is the thing I will miss the most.” She now plans to focus on teaching and yearbook. Real also strongly encourages anyone interested in One Act to audition for next year’s play. |
